The Booqable iOS app was designed with convenience in mind, and one of the best ways to improve your workflows is order management. You no longer have to go to your PC or laptop to find, create or edit an order. Instead, it can all be done from a much more portable device like your iPhone or iPad. This makes it easy to look up an order quickly while standing with a customer.

Whether your workflow involves taking customers ordering in-store or reserve in advance, it can be catered to within the app. Below we will go through the steps you need to take to process new orders, pickups, and returns just using your iPhone or iPad.

Creating an order for walk-in customers

If you mostly accept walk-in orders, you will need to create an order from scratch, and there are a couple of ways to achieve this.

To create an order for a new customer, follow these steps:

  1. Press “+” to start a new order
  2. Then, “add a new customer” and either find their details or create a new one by pressing “+” again
  3. If you’re adding a new customer enter their details and click “create”
  4. Select the dates and times they would like to rent items out
  5. Then, press “add” at the bottom of the screen and select the items
  6. Take the customers payment
  7. Select “pickup” to mark the order as picked up.

This is much easier than creating an order on your PC or laptop and allows you to spend more time with customers. These processes can also be made even quicker with the app’s barcode scanning feature. You can also make a similar approach for phone and email orders, process the payment, and pick up on the date the items are picked up.

In addition, you can also request payments, apply discounts and coupons within the Booqable app. This will give you a share sheet that allows customers to scan a QR code or choose how to send a payment request.

Pickups and returns for online orders

If your store accepts online orders, the most common way of using the Booqable iOS app will be to check equipment in and out.

To process an order pickup, you simply need to do the following steps:

  1. Search for a customers name or order number
  2. Get the items they have ordered
  3. Specify the stock items to make sure you’re handing out the right ones
  4. Mark the order as picked up and send your customers on their way

To process an order return, follow these steps:

  1. Search for a customer name or order number
  2. Check that all items have been returned correctly
  3. Mark the order as returned and thank your customers

This speeds up the pickup and return process by allowing you to process an order on your iPhone or iPad quickly. In addition, pickups and returns can be sped up with barcode scanning.

Processing order deliveries

In some cases, you may need to process pickups and returns differently. One possibility is if you offer delivery and employ staff to make deliveries for you. This can also be handled efficiently with the Booqable iOS app.

To process deliveries, follow these steps:

  1. Search for the customer or order number
  2. Check if they have paid (denoted with a checkmark)
  3. Process the payment if required
  4. Check everything is correct
  5. Hand over the items and mark the order as picked up
