How On Trend streamlines rental management with Booqable

On Trend Event Hire provides modern and on-trend decor and furniture in Melbourne, Australia. The company caters to all sorts of events, like weddings, corporate occasions, and baby showers. Cassandra, the owner of On Trend Event Hire, started the company in 2017 after she saw a huge demand for affordable wedding decor. After she got married, she started renting out some of the things left over from her own wedding. From there on, she set out to provide the Melbourne area with the latest wedding and event trends, at affordable prices.

Challenge

On Trend struggled to work efficiently due to information about stock, customers, and payments all living in separate places. As a result, turning inquiries into proposals was a slow process. Before a quote gets drafted, On Trend needs to know whether the requested items are available for the client’s rental period (which typically spans a 4-day duration, covering the weekends from Fridays to Mondays). With information spread across various documents, finding the right information required too much work. On Trend needed a tidy workspace to consolidate their data about rental inventory and availability—so response times would decrease.

Booqable allowed On Trend to manage inquiries with greater efficiency. Thanks to the WordPress plugin, clients can request a quote in a few simple steps. As new requests flow in, On Trend confirms the availability and sends out a proposal directly from Booqable. For clients to secure the reservation, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. On Trend generates an invoice and uses the Stripe integration to send a payment request, which customers can settle using a credit or debit card.

The remaining amount is due two weeks before the rental period starts, along with a refundable damage deposit that makes sure the items are returned the same way they were rented out.
