If you’ve been updating the settings in your Booqable account today, you might have noticed they got a little facelift. Well, it’s been a while in the making, along with some nifty technical improvements to our product in general. But more on that in a different post. In this one, we are happy to share the reason behind the overhaul, and the value it brings you.
Why redesign our settings? As the heart and soul of your account, your settings affect almost everything you do in Booqable. They allow you to make Booqable your own by fine-tuning the features you use every day pretty granularly. Looking at the ‘old’ settings, we felt they were functional and reliable—we mean, they worked and updated as they should—but couldn’t we make the experience of finding and changing them a better one? Above all, we were running out of space for new additions, which was going to cause problems for future releases.
To construct better settings, we needed to make things more consistent and reduce the amount of time spent finding the right area. Ultimately, our goal with this update was to help you find and adjust the settings you’re looking for faster. This all started by giving some features individual setting pages and moving others to different sections altogether, along with technical updates that make everything consistent and more usable.
To help you work efficiently, we also added sidebar navigation to speed up clicking between parts, and each element now includes a short description explaining what the setting does. Advanced features like tax profiles and template structures even link to our Help Center, giving you step-by-step instructions and best practices for using them. We also added labels to our Pro and Premium features to indicate which plans they are in—saving the need to navigate to your account settings or our pricing page.
New users will be able to get a grip on the software more quickly. Once you’re up to speed with Booqable, you’ll spend less and less time in your settings, but as you’re getting started, you generally need to dedicate some time to make the software match your business. If you’re new to Booqable, the improved hierarchy and descriptions will help you get the hang of our rental software much faster.
