Sometimes people find themselves in a situation where they feel they’re being treated unfairly. However, it can be difficult to get out of those situations. Elliot Ramos was tired of how his job was treating him and a small inheritance from his uncle allowed him to escape that. Over the last eight years, he has been building his inflatable rental business and recently started using Booqable.

Elliot has been working for a company for a few years and began to realize that while ticket prices increased, his pay remained the same. He was doing a lot of work but only receiving about 20% of the ticket invoices. At this point, he told himself he deserved better and began exploring business ideas. Unfortunately during time his uncle passed away and while it was tough, he did inherit $5,000.

He invested this money into three bounce houses and he was quickly able to make enough to support himself. It turned out to be the greatest investment he ever made as eight years later, he now has over 80 bounce houses, among other items he rents out. These items include slides, waterslides, table, chairs, concession stands, tents, and karaoke machines.

His work and dedication has paid off and his business is now rated among the top 10 providers in Sacramento. He achieved this by striving to provide excellent customer service while keeping his bounce houses affordable. Recently, he has been able to buy a new home with some land. He plans to construct a metal building in the backyard so he can finally stop working out of his garage.

From ERS to Booqable

For many years, Elliot ran his rental business through a popular event rental system called ERS. However, as time went on, he began to feel that their pricing was becoming unaffordable for his usage. This left him in a tough situation because while the software had served him well, it didn’t align with his values. In February of 2024, he decided to cancel his subscription cold turkey in favor of Booqable.

While it took some time to get used to Booqable after using another rental system for so long, he is very happy that he made the switch. He was able to get most of his inventory, document templates, and website set up within roughly 15 hours. He chose the Bounce theme in the website builder to create the base for his new rental website and is particularly happy with the mobile experience, stating, “You guys have the easiest booking I’ve ever dealt with on a mobile phone.”

In addition, he has seen huge improvements in the day to day workflow while managing his business. He loves using the mobile to keep track of bookings and create last minute reservations for customers. The ability to send emails from the mobile app allows him to quickly send invoices and confirmation emails to customers. Meanwhile, he has added custom fields to his checkout which allow him to track the performance of his marketing campaigns.

Busier than ever

Until now, Elliot has been working with a team of just three people including himself. He hopes that in the coming years business continues to thrive and he is able to hire more helpers and purchase more trucks. This will allow him to provide great deals to more customers and expand the reach of his business. He aims to claim the number one spot of inflatable rental providers in his city.
