Stacy Molander started designing flowers for weddings and events while she was studying interior design. After years of creating and styling celebrations, she and her team at Rusted Window in Fortville, Indiana, launched Borrowed by RW to make their collection available to more people. “Clients can host beautiful events without buying pieces they’ll only use once, or figuring out where to store them afterward,” Stacy says.

The event rental collection includes candleholders, lanterns, vases, arches, tabletop decor, signage, photo backdrops and custom bars for weddings, showers, parties and corporate events. Floral vessels are the most popular pieces.

The team designs the flowers, and clients return the vessels after the celebration. Customers range from corporate event planners to people hosting weddings and private parties. To give them a place to browse and book, Borrowed by RW chose Booqable as its rental management software and booking platform. They got a prebuilt booking page, linked it from their existing website, and used online product collections to guide clients toward pieces that work together.

An online catalog that updates automatically

Before Booqable, the team tracked rentals in a spreadsheet, and they only rented pieces to clients who also booked floral design with them. Keeping track of which items were available, reserved or out at an event was the hardest part. “Our biggest challenge was inventory control,” Stacy says.

Booqable gave Borrowed by RW a prebuilt booking page that they linked from their existing site. When the team adds a new piece, adjusts stock or changes a price, the booking page updates automatically, so availability always matches what’s actually on the shelf. Clients reserve items and pay a deposit at checkout, and the team follows up to confirm details and arrange pickup or delivery.

“Our corporate event planners especially appreciate having access to our rental catalog online whenever they need it,” Stacy says. “They can browse the collection on their own schedule and come to us with a clearer idea of what they want.”

  • Clients can check availability and book event rental items any time, without waiting for a reply

  • Deposits are collected at booking, giving the team a clear starting point to follow up

  • Double bookings are avoided because reservations and inventory live in one place

The spreadsheet guesswork is gone, and the team plans pickups and returns with more confidence. And because the catalog is open to everyone, the event rental side of the business no longer depends on floral bookings.

Curated collections to guide every celebration

A big catalog of candleholders, vases and backdrops can be a lot to take in. Some event rental clients know exactly what they want. Others need help bringing their vision together, and scrolling through every single item doesn’t make that any easier.

Booqable’s booking page comes with a filter bar on the left-hand side that’s already set up. The team arranges products into collections in the backend, and clients pick a collection from the sidebar to filter the page. That way, Stacy can group pieces so clients see items that look good together.

“My favorite feature is the ability to create curated collections in our online catalog,” Stacy says. “It helps clients browse without feeling overwhelmed and gives them confidence to choose pieces that work together. It’s a way to offer design guidance right from the start.”

  • Clients find matching pieces quickly instead of scrolling the full catalog

  • Clients get design guidance before the first conversation even happens

  • Planners arrive with a clearer idea of the look they want

Clients who once felt overwhelmed now have a starting point that reflects how Stacy’s team would style the event. That means fewer back-and-forth messages and more time for flowers and finishing touches.

Rent, celebrate and return

“Having inventory and reservations in one place has made our day-to-day work more organized,” Stacy says. “It also helps keep our team on the same page, giving us more time to focus on design and our clients.”

Borrowed by RW brings an interior designer’s eye and years of floral experience to event rental in the Indianapolis area.

With Booqable’s booking page, clients can browse and reserve pieces whenever it suits them, while curated collections help them put together a cohesive look. Next, the team plans to expand its collection, build lasting relationships with corporate planners and local venues, and keep the personal service that makes the business special.
