Jonathan founded BIKECRAFT in 2020 on Costa Rica’s North Pacific coast. The location provides an incredible setting for mountain biking, with over 50km of single-track trails and four beaches spread across 4,500 private acres. This unique combination of terrain and privacy allows them to offer an unmatched biking experience for visitors.
BIKECRAFT specializes in high-end e-bikes and mountain bikes, serving North American tourists and residents. With a team of four, they provide bike rentals and guided tours to help customers explore the extensive trail network. One of their most memorable moments was hosting a group of 20 women for a 5-day mountain biking adventure on their trails.
From spreadsheets to software
Initially, Jonathan managed bookings through Excel spreadsheets and a basic POS system. This led to several challenges, including inventory management issues, double bookings, and lost leads due to slow response times. He needed a solution that would help prevent these problems while making it easier for customers to book bikes.
After implementing Booqable on his Squarespace website, customers can check bike availability and make online reservations. The system automatically handles security deposits, which Jonathan particularly appreciates as this was previously difficult to manage. He also uses coupon codes to reward returning customers, helping build loyalty among his client base.
The Booqable mobile app allows Jonathan to quickly check daily bookings and monitor new web orders as they come in. This has helped streamline operations as his team can access booking information anywhere on the property.
Multiple locations
Jonathan has built BIKECRAFT into a successful rental operation with ambitious growth plans. In the coming years, he envisions expanding to multiple bike rental centers, each offering easy access to quality bike trails. The automated booking system has already reduced the time spent on administrative tasks, allowing the team to focus on providing excellent customer experiences.
