MI Premier Rentals is run by Kevin Arszylo and based in Troy, Michigan. The idea didn’t come from a business plan, but from looking at his own garage, as Kevin started renting out a single trailer, before thinking, “Surely other people need specialty trailers and would want to rent them.” It wasn’t long before he decided to test the idea with what he already owned.
Before too long, Kevin realized he was constantly buying equipment he only used a handful of times. His wife pushed him to try something different. “Instead of continuously buying more toys for myself I could rent them out to see how it goes,” Kevin said. “And it went great.”
That early success made something clear. People wanted access, not ownership. They wanted to use equipment when they needed it, without the cost and upkeep that comes with buying. Today, MI Premier Rentals offers trucks, trailers, jet skis, boats, snowmobiles, and side-by-sides for recreation, transport, and seasonal use.
Early on, Kevin managed everything with Excel and notebooks, which made tracking dates, documents, and payments stressful. Switching to Booqable to manage orders, clients, rental agreements, and more gave him a way to grow using dependable equipment rental software.
Starting a remote-run rental business
The business grew naturally as demand increased. Kevin realized many customers wanted access to equipment they couldn’t justify buying. “Most people also can’t afford powersports if they only use them a few times,” he explained. His customers vary widely in age and background.
Trailers are rented most often, while jet skis are especially busy during summer. There is no typical customer, which is part of what keeps the business moving year-round. As volume increased, manual tracking became a real issue.
“Keeping track of dates, profits, everything was a struggle,” Kevin said. Lost notes or missed details could quickly turn into problems. Today, customers reach out through ads and social channels, and Kevin handles everything inside Booqable. Kevin is able to send a rental agreement that includes a how-to guide alongside one of Booqable’s email templates.
Then, the customer receives a Booqable-generated invoice with a payment link managed through Stripe. He can then reserve the items in the Booqable availability calendar, blocking them from availability for those dates, and the customer’s details are saved automatically in his client database.
Everything stays connected in one place, from documents to payments to inventory. This setup saves time, reduces mistakes, and lets Kevin run almost everything himself using equipment rental software that matches how he works.
Keeping agreements clear and organized
Paperwork used to be one of Kevin’s biggest pain points. Making sure every customer had signed the right documents was difficult. “Properly making sure I had all the documents from customers organized” was hard to guarantee.
Here’s how it works now. When Kevin creates a new order, he generates a rental agreement in one click. The agreement is automatically pre-filled with booking details like rental dates, product information, and terms, so nothing needs to be entered twice.
Kevin customizes the agreement template to match his business and includes a use and operation guide alongside a Q&A section. The agreement is attached to an email and sent directly to the customer, where it can be reviewed and signed digitally or downloaded as a PDF.
At the same time, the customer receives a Booqable-generated invoice with a Stripe payment link. The items are reserved in the system and blocked from availability for those dates, and customer data is saved automatically with the order.
This setup gives MI Premier Rentals three clear benefits:
-
Signed agreements are stored with each reservation
-
Items are correctly blocked from availability
-
Payments and customer details are tracked in one place
Building a customer database for repeat business
The practical benefit is peace of mind. Kevin no longer worries about missing paperwork or double bookings, and customers know exactly what to expect.
Running the business mostly solo meant Kevin needed a reliable way to keep track of customers over time. Before, there was no clear record of who had rented what, when they last booked, or how often they returned.
As Kevin puts it, “saving customer information, seeing how many times and what they have rented prior” is one of his favorite features. When a customer places an order or Kevin creates one manually, their details are saved automatically to a customer profile.
Each profile includes a clear history of past and upcoming rentals, so Kevin can quickly see what someone has booked before without logging anything by hand. He can also add notes, apply discounts, and store extra details that help with preparation and communication.
This achieves three things for his business:
-
Returning customers are easy to recognize and serve
-
Booking conversations move faster with full context
-
Loyalty and repeat business are easier to manage
The result is consistency. Kevin can respond with confidence, keep relationships organized, and rely on his equipment rental software to handle the details he used to track manually.
Looking ahead with confidence
MI Premier Rentals shows how a small idea can grow with the right setup. Kevin moved from notebooks and spreadsheets to a single system that supports remote rentals, clear agreements, and repeat customers.
With Booqable as his equipment rental software, he’s focused on expanding locations, adding niche inventory, and continuing toward his goal of becoming a true one-stop rental shop.
