How to Rent Your Products with Instagram Shopping

By now, you know how popular Instagram is and how beneficial it is to have a great Instagram strategy for your rental business. However, did you know that you advertise your rental products with Instagram Shopping? You can list your rentals on your Instagram profile and tag them in your posts, stories, and reels to promote directly to your audience.

Instagram Shopping has rapidly become one of the preferred ways consumers learn about new brands and products. It also allows users to purchase/book a rental in just a few steps. They just need to view your shop, select the product they want to rent, click the link to your website, and then check out as they usually would on your website.

So, let’s see how you set up rental products on Instagram Shopping and what you can do to make the most of the features.

How to set up Instagram Shopping

Setting up Instagram Shopping takes just a few steps to get started and add your products. You will then have to submit your shop for review, and Instagram will approve your shop within a few days if everything looks right.

Create your shop

  1. Go to Facebook Commerce Manager and click + Add shop.

  2. You will be greeted with an introduction screen with some information; once you are ready, click Next.

  3. Now, you’ll be on the checkout method page. Choose the option called “Checkout on another website”; this will allow you to send customers to your online store. Then, click Next.

  4. Choose your Instagram page from the account selection and make sure it is linked to your Facebook page. Then, click Next.

  5. If you don’t already have a business account connected to your page, you’ll need to create a new one. Once this is complete, you can click Next.

  6. On the next screen, you should select “Create new catalog,” which will allow you to start a new store. Then, click Next.

  7. You will be asked where you ship products to. Don’t worry; if you don’t ship your rentals, this option is only used, so the right people have access to your shop. Select your country and click Next.

  8. Finally, you will be greeted with a screen where you can review your information. Tick the box confirming you want to submit your shop for review and click Finish.

Add products to your shop

Once you’ve completed the above steps, you will be greeted with this screen. It is now time to start adding products to your shop. Follow the steps below to add your products to your Instagram shop.

  1. Click Add items to select Manual and click Next to move on to the “Items” inventory screen. This is where you can add your products.

  2. Fill in the Title, Description, Website link, and Price fields, then click the + sign under images to add your pictures.

  3. Click + New item to add more products to your store.

  4. Once you have finished adding products, you can click Upload items.

Your products will now be reviewed. You can go to the Overview screen to publish your shop by selecting Publish shop. You should receive a notification within 24 hours when your products are approved.

How to make the most of Instagram Shopping

Instagram Shopping opens your business to more opportunities to share your rental products with your audience. There are three main ways you can use Instagram Shopping to drive organic rentals from Instagram:

  • Shoppable posts - This feature lets you tag your products in your posts so people can rent directly from them. They work the same ways as when you tag someone in your posts, except you’re tagging products. These can be added to images, videos, and reels.
  • Product stickers - You can add product stickers to your Instagram stories in the same way as you can tag products in posts.
  • Shop tab - When Instagram Shopping is enabled, you will see a Shop tab on your profile. Here users can view your entire collection.
