This week, we are excited to introduce a new date picker for the online store. The date picker is tied to the Booqable shopping cart and features an interactive calendar that can be placed anywhere on your website using a simple code snippet.
Why we built the date picker
Over the past months, we noticed the shopping cart by itself works beautifully for most of our customers. But we also found that some rental companies would benefit from an additional period picker, similar to the ones you see at hotels or tour and activity operators. In the first place, because it’s an online booking experience we all know and trust.
But when real-time availability is in play, the benefits of an additional input field become even more apparent. While you were always able to use the shopping cart to select dates and check availability afterward, some of our users asked for a more evident way to demonstrate that behavior to their customers. That’s where the date picker comes in.
Why do you need it?
The new feature gives you the freedom to decide where on your website people select a rental duration. With the date picker, your customers can choose a rental period and instantly see what’s available, without first having to interact with the shopping cart. The update makes Booqable even more flexible so you can provide the best possible rental experience for your customers.
