When Richard Lisonbee and TJ saw how outdated litigation logistics had become, they decided to make a change. They started TLCI to provide better equipment rentals and support services to traveling law firms. After managing their inventory with spreadsheets, they switched to Booqable to improve tracking and give clients better visibility into available equipment.
Improving litigation logistics
Richard and TJ both worked in litigation logistics and noticed their competitors weren’t adapting to industry changes. They saw an opportunity to improve processes and update how equipment rentals and support services were provided to law firms. This led them to start TLCI, offering equipment rentals alongside comprehensive onsite support.
TLCI provides law firms with everything they need while working on multi-district litigation cases. Beyond equipment rentals, they handle logistics like meals, IT support, transportation, and laundry services. They’ve implemented flat-rate setup times to control costs and invested in technology to maintain efficiency without compromising quality.
Their team has grown to 14 full-time employees plus several contractors. They work primarily with law firms involved in multi-district litigation but have started seeing interest from event planners. One of their proudest achievements has been partnering with innovative small businesses to develop unique solutions for their clients.
Equipment tracking
When TLCI first started, they managed their inventory using spreadsheets with conditional formatting. This made it difficult to track equipment and show clients what was available. They needed a better way to manage inventory and let clients see and select equipment themselves. After looking for a solution, they found Booqable offered the features they needed.
The QR code system in Booqable has made inventory tracking much simpler. Team members can scan equipment using their phones, making it easy to track items anywhere. This mobile capability has been particularly useful for tracking inventory and billing for equipment usage while on location with clients.
For a smaller company like TLCI, Booqable has helped them avoid investing in costly software and infrastructure. The system is easy to train new staff on, and they’ve experienced no product loss since implementation. The streamlined processes have led to significant time savings in their daily operations.
International expansion
Richard and TJ have positioned TLCI well for future growth. Their clients work globally, and no other company offers quite the same services. Within five years, they plan to expand internationally, with hopes of opening a second office in Singapore. This will allow them to better serve their clients’ needs worldwide while maintaining the efficient processes they’ve developed.
